TaL AM Institutes Planned for 2006-2007: each TaL AM 1 and TaL AM 2 institute will constitute of TWO parallel tracks.
In addition, TaL AM Institutes for grade 3 teachers are now offered for those interested in implementing our new TaLAM 3
curriculum, to be launched for the school year 2006-2007.

First Institute - Ready, Set, Go!!!
In this 5-day Institute-1, held in preparation for TaL AM implementation, we will:

  • Introduce the brain-based learning principles of TaL AM.

  • Learn the methodology of heritage language and literacy development.

  • Acquaint ourselves with the content, concepts, skills and materials of the 1st half of the school year for TaL AM 1, 2 and 3.

  • Model TaL AM instruction in a simulated grades 1-3 classrooms and via videotaped lessons.

  • Assessing student learning and use results for planning instruction.

Cost: Registration, food and lodging $US 700.

Second Institute - Staying the Course and Gaining Mileage!!!
In this 4-day Institute-2, held mid-year, we will:

  • Introduce the content and materials of the second half of the school year.

  • Answer questions about implementation based on questionnaires, samples of student's learning. Special focus on students' reading and writing.

  • Fine tune instructional skills congruent to TaL AM methodology and to student's varied learning styles.

  • Learn to prepare grades 1-3 portfolio and utilize it to communicate the achievements of each student, of the curriculum learned and its linkage from grade to grade.

Cost: Registration, food and lodging $US 580.
